Friends Meeting

Just a Reminder: The Friends of Governor Dodge State Park's Board meeting will be on Wednesday, July 19th at 6 pm. We are opting for a summertime change of venue, meeting at the group gathering area in the Equestrian campground.

Directions: Follow the signs for the Hickory Ridge Group camp and horse campground-keep going past the entrance to the horse trailer parking and around the curve.  The group gathering area fire circle/patio will be on your right just beyond a line of small pine trees. You can park along the road and walk the short distance to the fire circle.

Food and CampFire: Board member Sandy Rogers has kindly invited us to enjoy a campfire at her site (# 757- near the ADA site and new toilet building)  for the latter part of the meeting, so bring your camp chair and your favorite beverage and join us for some social time as well as the business meeting.

Note: Sandy and FOGD members Sherri Torrison and Kim Pope will be providing the fixings for "walking tacos" for those who want to come a little early to grab something to eat before the meeting. Campsite #757.

If the weather is bad, we will meet at the maintenance building.

Work Day: Amphitheater

Can you spare a little time to help finish the amphitheater project? The benches were scraped and stained a few weeks ago by a couple of hardworking volunteers (see attached) but the steps, railing, and stage area still need scraping and staining.  If you are available to help, please meet on Saturday, June 17 at 9:00 (weather permitting) at the park office where supplies will be furnished. Remember, many hands make light work!

If you have any questions, please call Chip at 608-851-0210.
