Join us for an amazing up close encounter with some of our state’s most impressive raptors! Perfect for ages 5 and up. Two programs: 10:30 a.m. and noon. For the safety and comfort of the birds, please do not bring dogs to the program. Gather at the Amphitheater.

Work Day - Volunteer Opportunity

Nature Station : Turtles
Celebrate World Turtle Day by learning about Wisconsin’s turtles and how you can help protect them. Stop by the table at Cox Hollow Beach any time between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Prehistoric Rock Art
Take a look into the past with a presentation on the prehistoric rock art of southern Wisconsin. Meet at the amphitheater
Shoreline Clean Up
Join us for a morning of volunteer work. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Meet at Cox Hollow Beech. Led by DNR Abigail Kreger

Clear brush from around springhouses to prepare for new signage
Meet at park office; Park sticker required
Work includes cutting back shrubs and trees, removing debris approximately 15 feet around AST springhouse
Wear heavy footwear and work gloves, tools provide by park staff
May place signage if available

FOGD Board Meeting
Meeting CANCELED due to an unforeseen situation. The meeting will be rescheduled at a date to be determined.
Trail Walk and Clean Up
Meet at the Park Office. Dress for the weather. We will be walking the Uplands Trail and removing branches left after trail trimming. Nothing too strenuous…bring your dog along for the walk, too, if you’d like. Light refreshments afterward.
2026 First Day Hike

Annual Meeting
The Friends Board Meeting will be held at the park maintenance building on Wednesday, November 12.. New Board members will be elected and membership renewals will be accepted. Socializing and pizza at 5:30 pm with business meeting starting at 6:00. RSVPs appreciated.

Tree planting work day
Meet at the park office at 9:00 a.m. Join the Friends and other volunteers to plant trees and shrubs and do some general cleanup of campgrounds. 9-noon. Then take some time to enjoy the park! Contact Chip at 608-851-0210 with questions or to volunteer.

Board Meeting-Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Friends of Governor Dodge will take place on November 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the park maintenance building. Prior to the meeting there will be time to socialize beginning at 5:30 p.m. We ask that you bring your own beverage and chair.
All are welcome to come learn about the Friends’ accomplishments in 2024 and give input on future projects. New memberships will be accepted, and current memberships can be renewed at the meeting.
